What is a “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo”?

• “MagicGate” is a copyright protection technology that uses an encryption technology.

• You can record or play data such as music that requires copyright protection only by using a “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” with “MagicGate” compatible equipment.

• “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” can be used with other “Memory

Stick Duo” compatible equipment to record images you have taken yourself or any ordinary digital data.

For details on operations with “Memory Stick Duo” compatible equipment please refer to the instruction manual of each equipment.

Precautions on Use

• Do not touch terminal A with your hand or any metal object.

- The “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” has a groove on the side (Illustration D) which lets you distinguish it from a general “Memory Stick Duo” just by touch.

• Do not apply strong pressure to the memo area C when writing onto it.

• Do not strike bend or drop the unit.

- Do not attempt to disassemble or convert the unit.

- Do not wet the unit.

- Do not use or store the unit in the following areas:

– Hot locations such as the inside of a car or the outdoors in hot weather.

– Locations exposed to direct sunlight. – Humid or corrosive locations.

• Carry or store the unit in the supplied case.

- When using the supplied case make sure that the unit is in properly or it may fall out.

• Do not excessively bend the plastic opening of the supplied case.

- Do not stick the supplied label for the supplied case onto the

“MagicGate Memory Stick Duo”.

• You can insert the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” into the Memory

Stick Duo Adaptor to use with “Memory Stick” compatible devices.

• Do not insert the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” directly into a

“Memory Stick” compatible device without the adaptor.

• Do not insert the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor into “Memory Stick”

compatible products when no “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” is inserted into the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor Doing so may cause the device to malfunction.

• Confirm that the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” is facing the right direction before inserting into the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor and also the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor is facing the right direction before inserting into “Memory Stick” compatible devices.

• Insert the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” as far as it will go into the

Memory Stick Duo Adaptor The “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo”
may not operate properly if it is not fully inserted.

• Do not excessively press or bend the inserted end of the “MagicGate

Memory Stick Duo”.

• Do not touch the terminal of the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor with your hand or any metal object.

• Be careful not to let dirt dust or foreign objects into the insert port of the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor.

• Do not store the Memory Stick Duo Adaptor in a hot place with the

“MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” inserted.

• Setting the write-protect switch B to “LOCK” prevents recording editing and deleting The position and shape of this switch may differ according to the model To operate the write-protect switch use a sharp pointed object such as a mechanical pencil.

• We recommend that you make a backup copy of important data.

- Do not remove the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” while reading or writing data.

• Recorded data may be damaged or lost in the following cases:

– If you remove the “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” or turn off the power while reading or writing data.

– If you use the unit in a location subject to static electricity or electrical noise.

• Voor meenemen opbergen in het bijgeleverde doosje.

- Zorgvuldig in het bijgeleverde doosje stoppen zodat het er niet uit kan vallen.

• De plastic opening van het bijgeleverde doosje niet te sterk verbuigen.

- Het bijgeleverde etiket voor het doosje mag u niet op de “MagicGate

Memory Stick Duo” zelf plakken.

• U kunt de “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” in een Memory Stick Duo

Adapter aanbrengen voor gebruik in een toestel dat geschikt is voor een “Memory Stick”.

• U mag de “MagicGate Memory Stick Duo” niet zonder de adapter aanbrengen in een toestel dat geschikt is voor een “Memory Stick”.

• Probeer niet om de Memory Stick Duo Adapter in een voor “Memory
