Using “Memory Stick” (with Memory Select Function) [MSA-128S2]

• There are two internal memories (128 MB) in your “Memory

Stick”.

• Using the memory select switch A at the back of the

“Memory Stick” you can select the memory you will use (A or B) depending on your purpose.

• Select the memory (A or B) with the memory select switch A

before using (MEMORY A is selected in the illustration.)

Note

You cannot use both A and B memories at the same time Besides when the storage capacity of the memory runs out while writing the data you cannot continue to write the data on the other memory in series.

Precautions on Use of “Memory Stick”

• Do not touch the terminal B with your hand or with any metal object.

• Do not attach any material other than the supplied label on the label space D.

• When affixing a label do not allow it to extend beyond the designated area.

• Do not apply strike bend or drop this unit.

- Do not disassemble or modify this unit.

- Do not wet this unit.

- Do not use or store this unit in the following areas:

– High temperature locations such as car interiors or outdoors under hot weather

– In locations exposed to direct sunlight – In humid locations or corrosive environments

• Carry or store this unit in the supplied storage case.

- Prevent accidental erasure or recording of data by moving the write-protect switch C to the “LOCK” position.

• We recommend you make back up copies of important data.

- Do not remove the “Memory Stick” while it is reading or writing data.

• Data stored on the “Memory Stick” may be lost or damaged in the following situations:
– If you remove the “Memory Stick” or turn off power to the connected device while reading or writing data.

– If you use this unit in locations subject to static electricity or electrical noise.

Precautions on Use of “Memory Stick” (with Memory Select Function)
[MSA-128S2]

• You cannot use both A and B memories at the same time.

Besides when the storage capacity of the memory runs out while writing the data you cannot continue to write the data on the other memory in series.

• The actual storage capacity (Operating domain) of memory A

and B is approximately 123 MB each If the size of a single file exceeds 123 MB it cannot be stored.

• Do not move the memory select switch A between A and B

while this unit is inserted into the Memory Stick slot of a compatible device Doing so will cause damage Damage caused by doing this will not be covered by the warranty.

• When switching the memory select switch A be sure to move it all the way to one side or the other If not completely switched damage or improper operation may result.

• Before inserting into the Memory Stick slot of a compatible device verify that the memory you will be using (A or B) is selected.

• When formatting (initializing) this device only the memory selected with the memory select switch will be formatted The unselected memory will not be formatted.

• If memory formatting is performed all data saved in the selected memory will be erased To prevent accidental erasure of data verify the selected memory (A or B) before performing the format operation.

• Even though “Memory Stick” compatible devices may display a message that states “All data in the Memory Stick will be erased” before formatting or the owners manual states that all data in the “Memory Stick” will be erased if a format is performed only the memory (A or B) selected with the memory select switch will actually be erased on this device.

• If all the storage space available in the “Memory Stick” is being used “There is no space remaining in the Memory Stick” may be displayed by some compatible devices This indicates there is no capacity remaining in the memory (A or B) selected by the memory select switch If there is capacity remaining on the other memory (the unselected memory) you can remove the “Memory Stick” from the compatible device and switch the memory you are using with the memory select switch A.

• If there is a problem with the data in one of the memories (A

Utilización de un “Memory Stick”
(con función de selección de memoria) [MSA-128S2]

• En su “Memory Stick” existen dos memorias internas (128

MB).

• Utilizando el selector de memoria A de la parte posterior del

“Memory Stick” podrá elegir la memoria que desee utilizar (A o B) dependiendo de su finalidad.

• Elija la memoria (A o B) con el selector de memoria A antes de la utilización (En la ilustración se ha seleccionado MEMORY A.)

Nota

Precauciones sobre la utilización de un “Memory Stick”

Gebruik van een "Memory Stick"

• Plak het etiket zo dat het niet uitsteekt voorbij de rand van de uitsparing.

• Laat het opslagmedium niet vallen zorg dat het niet verbogen wordt en zet er niets bovenop.

• Vooral niet demonteren en niet proberen aan te passen voor andere doeleinden.

• Zorg dat het opslagmedium niet nat wordt.

- Gebruik of bewaar het opslagmedium niet op de volgende plaatsen:
– waar het erg warm wordt zoals op een zonnige vensterbank of in een auto die in de zon geparkeerd staat;

– dichtbij een warmtebron of buiten in de volle zon;

Aanwijzingen voor een "Memory Stick" (met Memory Select functie)

• Het is niet mogelijk beide geheugenbanken A en B tegelijk te gebruiken Evenmin kunt u als de gebruikte geheugenbank vol raakt tijdens het wegschrijven van gegevens direct doorgaan naar de andere geheugenbank om daar de rest van de gegevens op te zetten.

• De praktisch bruikbare geheugencapaciteit (werkdomein) van de geheugenbanken A en B bedraagt ongeveer 123 MB per geheugenbank Als een bestand groter is dan 123 MB zult u het hierop niet kunnen opslaan.

• Verschuif de geheugenkeuzeschakelaar A niet tussen de A

en B stand zolang dit opslagmedium in de Memory Stick gleuf van een geschikt apparaat is geplaatst Hierdoor zou het opslagmedium beschadigd kunnen worden Schade die hierdoor ontstaat valt niet onder de garantie.

• Schuif de geheugenkeuzeschakelaar A altijd helemaal in de ene of de andere stand Als de schakelaar halverwege staat kan er storing in de werking en schade aan het opslagmedium ontstaan.

• Voordat u dit opslagmedium in de Memory Stick gleuf van een geschikt apparaat plaatst dient u even te controleren of de gewenste geheugenbank (A of B) is gekozen.

• Bij het formatteren (initialiseren) van dit opslagmedium wordt alleen de geheugenbank geformatteerd waarop is ingesteld met de geheugenkeuzeschakelaar De andere geheugenbank wordt niet geformatteerd.

• Bij het formatteren van een geheugenbank worden alle gegevens uit die geheugenbank gewist Om te voorkomen dat er per ongeluk belangrijke gegevens verloren gaan dient u voor het formatteren altijd even te controleren of de gewenste geheugenbank (A of B) is gekozen.

• Bij het formatteren met een voor "Memory Stick" geschikt apparaat kan er een waarschuwing verschijnen dat "Alle gegevens op de Memory Stick zullen worden gewist" en ook de gebruiksaanwijzing kan vermelden dat bij formatteren zullen alle gegevens van de "Memory Stick" verdwijnen maar bij dit opslagmedium zullen alleen de gegevens van de gekozen geheugenbank (A of B) worden gewist.

• Als alle beschikbare geheugencapaciteit van de "Memory

Stick" is gebruikt kan er bij bepaalde apparaten een waarschuwing verschijnen "Er is geen ruimte meer over op de Memory Stick" Bij dit opslagmedium is er dan geen ruimte meer beschikbaar in de geheugenbank (A of B) waarop is ingesteld met de geheugenkeuzeschakelaar Als er in de andere (niet gekozen) geheugenbank nog wel ruimte over is neemt u de "Memory Stick" even uit het apparaat en schakelt u met de geheugenkeuzeschakelaar A over op de andere geheugenbank.

• Als er problemen zijn met de gegevens in een van de geheugenbanken (A of B) kan het gebruikte apparaat een waarschuwing "Memory Stick fout" tonen Als dat zich voordoet volgt u de aanwijzingen in de handleiding van het gebruikte apparaat Er zal in de meeste gevallen niets mis zijn met de gegevens in de andere geheugenbank.

Utilizzo della “Memory Stick”

• Questa “Memory Stick” è provvista di due memorie interne (da 128 MB).

• Per mezzo del selettore di memoria A situato sul lato posteriore della “Memory Stick” stessa e in base ai propri scopi è possibile selezionare la memoria che si intende utilizzare (A o B).

Precauzioni relative all’utilizzo della “Memory Stick”

• Non toccare il terminale B con le mani o con oggetti metallici.

• Sullo spazio D appositamente predisposto per l’etichetta applicare solamente quella fornita in dotazione.

• Durante l’applicazione dell’etichetta evitare di farla fuoriuscire dall’area designata.

• Non urtare la scheda non piegarla né lasciarla cadere.

- Non smontare né modificare la scheda.

- Non bagnarla.

- Non utilizzare né conservare la scheda alle seguenti condizioni ambientali:
– Luoghi ad elevata temperatura quali abitacoli di autovetture o ambienti esterni sottoposti a forte riscaldamento solare.

– Luoghi esposti alla luce solare diretta. – Luoghi umidi o in presenza di atmosfera corrosiva.

• Trasportare e conservare la scheda nell’apposita custodia fornita in dotazione.

• Non commutare il selettore di memoria A tra le posizioni A e

B quando la Memory Stick è inserita nel corrispondente alloggio di un dispositivo compatibile I danneggiamenti che ne potrebbero derivare non sono coperti dalla garanzia.

• Durante la commutazione del selettore A accertarsi di muoverlo a fondo nella direzione desiderata Qualora la commutazione non fosse completa si potrebbero verificare danneggiamenti oppure irregolarità di funzionamento.

prima dell’operazione di formattazione visualizzino un messaggio analogo a “Tutti i dati nella Memory Stick verranno cancellati” ovvero tale messaggio venga riportato nel relativo manuale di istruzioni dalla scheda verrebbero cancellati solamente i dati relativi alla memoria selezionata (A o B).

• Se si occupa l’intero spazio di memoria disponibile nella

“Memory Stick” alcuni dispositivi con essa compatibili potrebbero visualizzare un messaggio analogo a “Non vi è
più spazio disponibile nella Memory Stick” Ciò indica l’esaurimento della memoria selezionata (A o B) Tuttavia qualora nell’altra memoria (quella non selezionata) vi sia spazio disponibile questa può essere selezionata con il selettore A una volta rimossa la scheda dal dispositivo.
