ADJUSTING

THE CUTTING

DECK

A level

deck

is essential

for

uniform cut over

the whole

lawn.

With

the

mower on a

flat surface,

check that

the tyre

pressure

is correct,

check

the

float

spring

tension,

and

necessary

turn the adjuster

screw

(fig.

"D").

lf a satisfactory

parallel

setup

cannot be achieved,

adjust

the register

n' 10

To adjust

the mowing height,

set the lever

the lowest

setting

fit

two 30

mm shims

at the sides

under

the edge

of the deck, and set the

wire fig.

These

belts are self-adjusting and

do not

require_ any adjustqent.

Simply

check

the

spring

tension.

replace

the belts,

release the

tension

springs

("G",

fig. 14).

PTO

BELT

Caution!

This belt is

special,

use only

original belts.

To replace,

proceed

already eiplained

for replacement of the

hydrostatic

transmission

belt

(upper

spring

"G",

fis. 14):

1) Remove the

guard

above

the deck by unscrewing

the two

knobs fig.

2) Release the spring

Release

the fork fig.

and

remove the belt fig.

To adjust the tension,

use the register of the wire fig. 2

which stretches

the

spring.

When

the

PTO lever PTO

2 is engaged

the spring must be stretched

(its

length must

increase by

30 mm).

Adjust the blade brake on

the cutting deck

pulley

(fig.

12). When the blades

are engaged,

the shoe

must be in line

and 4 mm away

from the

belt; adjust the

hook

When replacing the belt, adjust the belt as shown in fig.

1B; to set the tension,

use

the register

fig.

you

have

a tool for measuring belt tension, the tension on initial installation

is 55 kg. CAUTION!

At subsequent

adjustments

once

the

belt

has

been used, the load must not exceed 38

kb; otherwise,

the belt

may be

damaged.

lf no tension

measurement tool is

available,

proceed

follows:

1) if the

belt

new, apply a force of B kg in the longest section; the

belt must

give

way by

15 mm

(fig.

20);

2) if the

belt has already been

used,

apply

force of 5.5 kg for a dip of

15 mm

(fig.

20).
