8. Common problems and remedies

WARNING!

Operator must stop using the auto - darkening filter welding helmet immediately

if the above-mentioned problems cannot be corrected

FAULT CAUSE REMEDY

Irregular darkening

dimming

Headband has been set

unevenly and there is an uneven

distance from the eyes to the

filter's lens.

Reset headband to reduce the

difference in distance to the

filter.

Front cover lens is soiled or

damaged.

Change lens cover.

Sensors are soiled or blocked.

Clean the sensors' surface.

Check that arc sensors are not

blocked against the arc light.

Set the Sensitivity regulator to

the upper position.

Auto-darkening

filter does not

darken or flickers

Photocell is not active.

Activate the photocell by

subjecting to direct sunlight for

20-30 minutes before use.

Side parts of the

filter are lighter

than central one.

Normal situation

This a natural feature of the

LCD. Such effect is not

harmful for the eyes.

However, in order to work in

comfortable conditions, try to

maintain 90° viewing angle.

Filter stays dark

after the arc goes

out or when there

is no arc.

Sensors are soiled. Sensitivity is

not properly adjusted.

Inspect the sensors and clean

if necessary. Set the

Sensitivity regulator to the

lower position. If the welding

zone is lighted intensively,

reduce the light.

Slow response Operating temperature is too low.

Do not operate at

temperatures below - 5 °С or

above 23 °C

Front /inside cover lens and/or

filter lens are soiled

Replace lens.

Poor vision

There is insufficient ambient light

Welding helmet

slips

Headband is not adjusted

properly.

Readjust headband.
